Justin’s corner of Denton County takes weather from two directions: supercells riding the 114 corridor and storms dropping south out of Wise County. On May 28, 2024, a 59 mph gust was measured at the I-35W and 114 interchange just south of town while spotters logged ping-pong-ball hail in Roanoke, and a spring 2024 hail system swept thousands of properties along this corridor from Roanoke through Justin to Ponder. The NWS has also confirmed tornado touchdowns in this stretch in recent years, including near US 287 and Bonds Ranch Road to the south and near Krum to the north in 2019.
