The March 17, 2016 storm dropped hail larger than 2.5 inches across this corridor and caused more than a billion dollars in damage in a single evening, much of it in and around White Settlement. The 1995 Mayfest storm hammered the west side a generation earlier, the May 28, 2024 windstorm drove near-hurricane gusts through the area, and the June 1, 2025 hail crossed Tarrant County yet again.
NWS Fort Worth logs several hail-producing storms across the county in a typical spring. On White Settlement’s older roofs the risk compounds: brittle mat cracks where young shingles bruise, and second layers hide the evidence.
