Why Blue Mound Homeowners Trust SWAT

Blue Mound is practically our backyard. Our shop sits at 834 Blue Mound Rd W in Haslet, about two miles north of Blue Mound City Hall on the same road the city is named for. When a Blue Mound homeowner calls after a storm, we are not driving in from across the Metroplex. That proximity matters most in the first 24 hours, when fast tarping and photo documentation are the difference between a clean insurance claim and water in the attic.

Blue Mound covers barely half a square mile of north central Tarrant County, tucked between Saginaw and north Fort Worth just west of I-35W. The city incorporated in 1957 and grew up around the old Globe Aircraft plant, which means much of its housing stock dates to the 1950s through the 1970s. Roofs here show a predictable pattern: aging three-tab shingles at or past the end of their service life, hail bruising from spring storms, wind-lifted ridge caps, and original pipe boots and valley flashing that let water in long before a stain shows up on the ceiling.

We inspect every Blue Mound roof with drone and on-roof photo documentation, then tell you straight whether a targeted repair buys you years or the roof is a legitimate insurance replacement.

We had an excellent experience with SWAT Roofing & Contracting. Jamie Marsh was our service associate, and he helped explain the entire process, making it very easy to work through with them and our insurance company. Their work is exceptional and quick. Jamie remained responsive through the whole process and I am confident with their fairness of their pricing. Highly recommend.

As someone who has never had their roof replaced, I was completely clueless about the process. Jamie Marsh took the time to thoroughly explain the process and was always available to assist with any questions or concerns along the way. As a bit of a special case, having recently changed insurance companies, I expected some push back from my previous insurer. From meeting with their adjuster, to working around my schedule to determine a replacement date, and being on site to ensure the integrity of not just my property but my neighbors as well, I can't thank Jamie and the SWAT roofing team enough for their guidance and professionalism throughout the process.

William Martin of SWAT was fantastic in helping us with our damaged roof. He fully explained how the while process would go and consistently stayed in contact and give us periodic updates all the way up until the day the job was done. The crew who did the work on the roof were very professional and helpful and ensured we were able to come and go safely while they worked. Thanks William for all your hard work!!

SWAT Roofing replaced my roof and gutters, painted the outside of the house and also did some minor repairs inside. They did a great job and my roof looks better than ever. Will Martin, the project manager, did a very good job in scheduling and communicating about all aspects of the project. I can definitely recommend SWAT Roofing.

Shout out to William Martin with SWAT Roofing for helping with the insurance claim, having to work with 2 different insurance adjusters to prove the damage for the roof replacement. William also made sure from beginning to end that the work was completed on time and to the standards that SWAT sets for their work ethics, thank you.

A very professional yet personal experience. William explained all options clearly and helped tremendously with insurance company and scheduling the project quickly and efficiently. He was present when the adjuster came by to answer any questions and make sure the process went smoothly. Their team showed up on time early in the morning and worked steadily all thru the day to be able to complete the job in one day. The attention to detail and willingness to solve any unexpected problems made working with them a real pleasure. Their warranty is amazing. Very pleased with the finished product.

North Texas Hail History

Blue Mound Roofs Take a Beating from North Texas Hail

Blue Mound sits in the heart of North Texas hail alley, and Tarrant County has absorbed some of the worst storms in the state’s record. The 1995 Mayfest storm dropped hail up to 4.5 inches across Tarrant and Parker counties and remains one of the costliest hailstorms in U.S. history. In March 2016, hail over 2.5 inches caused more than a billion dollars in damage on the west side of Fort Worth. The May 28, 2024 windstorm pushed hurricane-force gusts through northern Tarrant County, and on June 1, 2025, golf-ball to baseball-size hail raked the county again, with roofs taking the brunt.

The National Weather Service Fort Worth office tracks several hail-producing storms across the county in a typical spring. Even when a roof looks fine from the street, hail leaves bruised shingles, fractured mat, and dented flashing that shorten its life and surface as leaks months later. That is why we inspect free after any significant storm, while the damage is still a documented insurance claim.

Blue Mound Roofing • FAQ

Our headquarters is about two miles north on Blue Mound Road in Haslet, which makes Blue Mound one of the closest cities we serve. After a storm we run local calls first and are frequently on-site the same day for tarping and documentation.

All of Blue Mound falls in 76131. We also serve the surrounding 76179 (Saginaw), 76052 (Haslet), and the north Fort Worth neighborhoods that share the 76131 zip with Blue Mound.

Blue Mound is its own incorporated city, not part of Fort Worth, so permits run through Blue Mound City Hall at 301 S. Blue Mound Rd rather than the Fort Worth system. We pull and manage the permit as part of every replacement so you never touch the paperwork.

A lot of Blue Mound housing dates to the 1950s through 1970s, and many roofs are on their second or third shingle layer or past the end of their service life. We inspect honestly and show you the photos. If a targeted repair buys you years, we say so. If the decking or shingle mat is past saving, we lay out replacement options and check whether recent storm damage makes it an insurance claim instead of an out-of-pocket cost.

Often you cannot tell from the ground. Hail bruising, granule loss, fractured shingle mat, and dented vents and flashing usually are not visible without getting on the roof. Our free drone and on-roof inspection documents everything with photos, which is exactly what your insurance carrier needs to see.

Yes. One SWAT project manager documents the damage, meets your adjuster on the roof, and manages the claim with your carrier from first call to final payment. We work with every major carrier.

Fully licensed with the RCAT and insured in Texas, with manufacturer-certified installers, an Atlas Pro+ Diamond designation held by the top 2 percent of U.S. roofers, and a best-in-class 10-year workmanship warranty.

Yes. Because we are two miles away, we can usually tarp the same day to stop water before it reaches your insulation and ceilings.

It varies with roof size, pitch, decking condition, and material, which is why we quote from a free inspection and never over the phone. Storm-damaged roofs are often covered by insurance minus your deductible. For typical DFW pricing by material and what drives the number up or down, see our roof replacement cost guide.

Yes. Not every replacement is an insurance claim, and for retail replacements we partner with third-party finance companies such as GreenSky & GoodLeap, with $0-down options, fixed rates, and no prepayment penalties. Details and pre-qualification are on our financing page, or ask your project manager during the inspection.
